From right to left to gold

SHOOTING - Karoly Takacs lost his right hand during the war. But that didn't stop him from being a great athlete. He learned to shoot with his left hand and won Olympic gold.

After the first day Takacs and Ullman, who had won bronze two days earlier in the free pistol contest, were equal on points. But there was no stopping Takacs on day two. Although there was a small incident when his pistol accidentally went off after reloading. At first this shot was counted, but later the jury of appeal allowed him to shoot again. He went on to win. Valente of Argentina took the silver, the bronze was for Lundquist from Sweden.
